”Local entrepreneur and nano-influencer Mikayla Pusatier has teamed up with local businesses to create the inaugural Miss Alternative Buffalo Beauty Pageant. 

This event marks the next step for The Miss Alternative Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women by honoring those who have rediscovered their beauty after surviving abuse and trauma.

The Miss Alternative Buffalo division represents the Western New York  region and focuses on hosting or participating in local charitable events, activities, and galas throughout the year.

What started as a small, local competition aimed at uniting alternative communities—groups that challenge conventional norms and embrace diverse lifestyles, self-expression, and unconventional beauty standards—quickly evolved into a platform that showcases the glamour and individuality of those who may have otherwise gone unnoticed. 

Pusatier’s vision for the organization combines personal healing, trauma recovery, and spiritual awakening, helping participants celebrate their unique journeys".
